This is a 1/2L Authentic Regimental or Reservist German Beer Stein, mold #658, made by Dümler & Breiden and named to Reservist Bielefeld for his service from 1904-1906. The steinfeatures pottery relief of a soldier. It has a larger raised base, as would be used for a music box, but there is no music box present. The pewter lid features a seated soldier, wearing hishelmet and uniform, holding his rifle, and hoisting his stein in toast. Thethumb lift is an eagle wearing a crown. The figural handle features a man\'s face in relief.
There is paint wear on the surface of the stein and it is very difficult to read the details ofthe reservist, written on the banner at the bottom, but I was able to make out the years 1904 and 1906 and the reservist name \"Bielefeld\". The pottery itself has no damage, chips, cracks orhairlines. There is a slight separation between the pewter tang and the lid, but very minor.
The stein had a note inside, which is shown in the last photo that says \"Brought back from Germany by Grandpa 1947\" and signed \"Jimmy Lynch\".
