An antique thermoplastic or gutta percha image case. This one holds two 1/9 plate 2 x 2.5 inches (5 x 6 cm) daguerreotypes. The case itself measures 3\" x 2-1/2\" x 3/4\" Images are a man and wife. Condition as shown has some wear/damage associated with age and use. Unsure of the maker as this case is fresh to market and unpopped. Likely a Union Case Littlefield Parsons or Critchfield.
