Up for sale is an antique 1862 first edition of Theodore Winthrop\'s book \"John Brent\". It is in good condition for its age. It does have two previous owner\'s names in it, a hand written poem by the same author (not written in the book by the author), and a description of his Civil War record beneath his name. He is famous as one of the first Union officers to be killed in the American Civil War. The pages are in fantastic condition. As seen in the pictures, there is a splitting along an inside seem. The marbled part is beginning to split off of the leather on the back cover, as well. All in all, its in better shape than most books of its age.
