Beautiful antique perforated paper needlework sampler dating to the 1880s. The needlework is of biblical Psalm 37:4 in German: \"Habe deine lust an dem Herrn der wird dir geben was dein Herz wunschet,\" translated into King James English as \"Delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.\"

In addition to the needlework, the frame contains a celluloid angel on a bed of dried flowers.

The sampler is In an old wood frame with a heavy duty/thick cardboard panel backing kept in place with small nails and a wire hanger. The framed piece measures approximately 14\" by 18.5\" in size. Brown paper was removed from the back.

As for condition, there is a small stain in the upper left corner of the canvas. Glass is in good condition. A few nicks and worn spots in the paint on the frame. Please examine photos carefully.
