Antique c1890 A. Lanternier & Cie Limoges France Two-Piece Covered Porcelain Vegetable Server
Antique A. Lanternier Limoges France Hand Decorated Two-Piece Covered Porcelain two-handled Vegetable Server circa 1890. The two handles and the lid handle are both gold encrusted. Around the edge of the lid and upper edge of the bowl is a green pattern trimmed in gold over white porcelain. A simple but exquisite design.
The inside of the lid features the A. Lanternier & Cie Limoges trademark red stamp. The base of the bowl is marked "A. Lanternier & Cie Limoges in addition to the "Limoges France" mark in green. The marks date this vegetable dish to circa 1890, after son Alfred took over the business.
The dish measures approximately 10 inches handle to handle by 4½ inches in height with the lid on. Condition: There is a small chip along the edge of the cover and there is some minor cosmetic wear to the hand decorations. See images.
