Conneaut Lake Exposition Park was founded in 1892 as Exposition Park by Colonel Frank Mantor as a permanent fairground and exposition.

The Conneaut Lake Exposition Companyopened in 1892on 7 acrespartiallyfacing Conneaut Lake, the largest natural lake in Pennsylvania.

Col. Mantor built three buildings- a dance hall. a convention hall for lectures and a boat house. A farm house located on the property was converted into a hotel.

The first mechanical ride, a carousel, was soon followed by a midway and other rides.

The park was renamed Conneaut Lake Park in 1920 to reflect a move toward more amusements and rides.

This plate pictures the original bath house facing the water and the beach and was offered as a souvenir to visitors.

The few plates picturing any of the three buildings are sought after by collectors, especially as the park is in serious financial trouble and may be closed.

It is very RARE to find one in this very good condition-no chips, cracks, crazing. A small portion of the picture

of theend of the roof and trees is obscured by a mark on the reverse side of the plate.
