Antique 1895 (Royal) Doulton Burslem A8356 Large Soup Tureen and Ladle:

On offer is this magnificent antique large soup tureen with notched lid and matching ladle byDoulton Burslem - a floral (chrysanthemum) pattern #A8356.Backstamp dates this to circa 1886-1902; the A8356 pattern reference makes this more specifically 1895. Dimensions:

Tureen base (excl handles, top rim dimensions): 25cm x 20cm x 12cm.
Soup ladle measures approx 16cm in length.
Heavy, raw unpackaged weight of over 1.7kg. Will be over 2kg posted.

In overall very good condition for age - no chips or cracks. Soup ladle shows some age related crazing. Some wear to the heavy gold trims through use. On the base of the tureen, the top rim shows some \'flea bites\' - I believe part of manufacture. Please consider photos.A wonderful presentation tureen for a sideboard/buffet or cabinet and of course a practical serving piece for your more formal dining.Please note that I have other pieces available in this pattern listed.
