This isan Antique 1897 British Hallmarked William Davenport Sterling Silver Salt Spoon.

This beautiful sold salt spoon would nicely complement any antique sterling salt cellar. At the time of the original listing, we were also in the process of listing another antique salt spoon and a pair of antique sterling salt cellars.

The photos are closeups. The spoon is 2 5/8\" long.It weighs 3.6 grams.

The spoon is fully hallmarked. We do not know the name of the pattern. The English hallmarks on the spoon are:

Town Mark - The spoon has the anchor Birmingham Assay mark
Date Letter - The lower case x and the shape of the cartouche containing it correspond to the 1897 Birmingham date mark
Silver Purity Mark - the spoon has the Lion Passant sterling silver purity mark
Maker\'s Mark - The spoon has the William Davenport mark of \"W.D\" in a rectangular cartouche with rounded corners. Online research indicated this mark was in use from 1893 to 1929 (consistent with the 1897 date letter).
