Elegantantique British tea caddy with three canister wells

Purchased by the consignor at Swan Tavern Antiques in Gloucester County, VA in 1972 for $225.00.

18th Century Queen Anne- 1700\'s

10 1/2\" wideX 6 1/4\" deep X 6 3/4\" tall

Original patina with concave pieced burl wood molding along the edges of the lid

Delicate gilded brass claw feet, beautiful cast brass escutcheon and lid ornamentation with a graceful double swan neck handle.

Three compartments with one brass box inside (locked - sorry, no key!)

Greenvelvet inside the lid

Weight without packaging: 3 pounds 5 oz.

Condition:Finish issues as shown (the box has NOT been refinished, thank goodness!) Burl wood molding is chipped in spots.The hinges are sturdy and a little bit loose.

The box is in overall very good condition considering that it is over 250 years old...a true treasure!
