$5.24

This divided back postcard, printed by Raphael Tuck & Sons as part of “Valentine Post Cards, Series No.3 From Many Lands.” was postally sent in 1909.The other postcard from this series must have been printed earlier as ithas an undivided back. Interestingly, the message written on this divided back postcard was written backwards and Iam unable to read it. Was it writtenwith invisible ink? You can just seetraces of it. The image on the front isthat of a bashful boy Cupid sitting on a bench in front of a largepretzel. On the bench also is onedachshund; another sits at Cupid’s feet. The ‘To my Valentine’ card includes the poem: Dachshunds and pretzelsand Cupid, you see, Bear from me this message, “I dearly love thee.” The image is signed by the artist E.Curtis.The postcard is in fair condition only with heavy corner wear, a bend that goesfrom the lower right corner to close to the top, another bend that goes throughCupid from top to almost bottom and part of the stamp wraps around to the fronton the upper left side. Postage andhandling will be $1.00. To protect thepostcard, it will be sent in a plastic sleeve attached to some cardboard beforebeing put in an envelope. Thank you foryour offer.
