This is an antique Allan Herschell carousel horse. 

Made between 1925-1937. This style is called half and half or jug heads. 

Only made by Allan Herschell . The bodies are all wood. The head,legs and tail are cast molded aluminum. 

Each horse comes with original brass pole and stirrups.
