It is very well made, being strong and sturdy and having a thick shank with a court style. It is made out of 9 carat rose gold and is richly coloured, giving it an immediately noticeable antique look. The ring is hallmarked inside as 9 carat gold with a hallmark dating from 1938 from Chester, England. The assay office in Chester has since ceased to exist, adding to the rarity of this piece. The ring weighs 5.9g and is approx. 5mm wide. It is currently size Y (USA size 12).
