Antique set of two miniature portraits hand painted on Ivory. The portraits are of Napoleon and Josephine. These miniatures are dated 1800 to 1899. These are of European origin, most likely French, and measure 5 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide. The frame is Walnut and is an oval shape. The paintings are covered with a concave glass, which is in excellent condition. These are artists signed by Espoisti (sp?). These are backed in a moire material with a hook for hanging on the wall. Comes from an old Miami estate, but they have been in my personal collection for over 30 years. In excellent vintage condition with only a small blemish on the Josephine portrait frame, which can easily be restored or covered with polish, but we have not retouched.
