Porcelain Kovsh of traditional form byKornilov Brothers Factory in St. Petersburg, Russia,circa 1890\'.

Lavishly decorated with a hand painted stylizedImperial Russian Double-headed Eagle in gold, darkgreen and dark red. An old Russianadage with pre-revolutionary orthography«ПОТЧИВАТЬ ПОТЧУЙ, А НЕВОЛИТЬ НЕ НЕВОЛЬ.»ingreen placed around it and encircled with double gold bordure and elaborate decorations on sides.Handle and tipare decorated witha white molded lattice design against adark green background.

Condition is excellent. Colors and gilding are very bright and vivid. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or restorations.

Marked ona bottomwiththeunerglazedtwo-color mark of Kornilov Brothers Factory in St. Petersburg (for period 1884 - 1917).

Kornilow Brothers snow-white porcelain gained worldwide recognition and demand in 19th century for its unsurpassed quality. Their grandiosepopularity in USA and Europe was abruptly brought to the end by Russian revolution of 1917.
