Beautiful mourning locket with a seed-pearl encrusted cross inset into an onyx oval.
The back is solid onyx set into the gold frame. The locket opens on hinges and reveals a glass-enclosed compartment with a lock of hair inside.
The locket is in excellent condition, unsigned, it has been tested for 18K gold and it has a hand engraved number inside (1547W), which was probably done by the person who created it, and maybe it has some meaning.
The locket measures just over 1 1/4\" with the bale, and just over 3/4\" wide. It weights 6.7gr.
The piece is in wonderful condition.
