Antique Red & WhiteBasket Quilt

Nice19th c. handmade red & white quilt. Nice thin cotton batting; neatlyhand-quilted. From the estate of a 6thgeneration Vermonter from Shelburne, VT. The quilt features Turkey red pieced basketson a background that is white with a tiny tan dot-like figure on the front, anda similar white fabric on the reverse side except the tiny figure is black onwhite. The binding is the reverse sidefabric turned to the front.

Thequilt is in overall good condition with normal age wear and a few minor spots,mostly on the reverse side. On the fronta corner has faded so the tiny design in the background fabric isn’tvisible.. See photos for details. It hasbeen recently hand-laundered and is clean and fresh. Great holiday quilt forbed or wall.
