Fascinating antique Civil War era 19th Century manuscript cookbook. Inscription on front blank page shows that this was penned by a one \'Lide? L?. Rogers\' beginning January 1 of 1862. Contains over 135 handwritten pages containing dozens and dozens of mouthwatering detailed recipes! Recipes are extensive with numerous steps, some having pages devoted to individual recipes. Many unique dishes throughout. Some loosely inserted period recipes. Interesting underlined header on one page by one of the chowder recipes reads \'New York Yacht Club\'. First page contains a table of household weights and measures and a table of liquid measures. Other pages throughout dated with names and dates in the 1870s. I believe this is from the New York State are but quite worthy of further research.
