We are offering a vintage late 19th century striking and colorful hand pieced graphic log cabin quilt, crafted with excellent workmanship. This fine example is pieced together with a series of alternating stepped solid black bar and multicolor bar patterns, surrounded by a rich deep royal blue border. In good overall condition as found. There are a few pieces of the black satin that have spots of deterioration, about 8 in all. There are areas of staining in some of the pattern that run about halfway up on the left and right hand sides (see photo #6), and some fugitive red in a couple of the bars (see photo #5). The blue velvet border is intact and without signs of damage. Stains to back as shown (see photo #9) The vast majority of pieces are in excellent condition and without issue. Colors remain vibrant and bold overall. Measures 74\" x 65\". Fresh out of an estate and offered here for the first time. Payment in full is expected within 48 hours of close of sale.
