Continental Figure
This is a very interesting 19th century porcelain figure of a rather strange long tailed and long footed creature. At first we thought these were red squirrels, or perhaps 19th century depictions of, but we have been able to find anything comparable. The quality in the modelling and paintwork is outstanding, this is a well made piece with great attention to detail. It carries a painted cross swords mark, as photographed. Perhaps this is a Samson copy, but copies of what? We know very little about this figure and so are selling as we see it, as an extremely good quality European figure, that has age. It measures 16cm tall and 13.5cm long. There are no condition issues.

We specialise in the decorative and applied arts from 1860 to the present day. We buy and sell good design and decorative objects including (but not limited to) Poole Pottery, Ruskin Pottery, William de Morgan and Dr Christopher Dresser. We are interested in works of Northern Art and in particular the work of Brian Bradshaw. Our stock covers the major style periods - Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern.
