This early Victorian era elegant porcelain compote is decorated with a hand painted lake scene in the center of platter with a twisting ribbon gold gilt border, the bottom is marked with an English registery mark dating this to 1846. Considering the fine quality, it was made by one of the better manufacturers of that time, such as Coalport, Ridgway, Rockingham, Davenport, Swansea etc.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs and virtualy no signs of use. It measures 11\" inches long by 8-1/4\" inches wide and 2.5\" inches high.Hello, and welcome to my store.
