Antique 19th century bronze nodder table bell - Man selling Pommade du Lion :

This is a nice quality antique 19th century bronze nodder bell in the form of a man selling Pommade du Lion. It was probably made in Vienna, Austria or France in around 1880 to 1900. His head is connected to the clapper and nods when the bell is sounded. The bell is in good condition and still retains its original finish with just some wear to the high points (see photographs). It rings well; has a really good tone and is well balanced so that the head continues nodding for some time after use. The bell measures 11.7 cm (4 5/8 inches) in height.
