This piece is a wall pocket which depicts a large spread winged eagle which is perched above a shield which is hollow so that this piece can be used as a wall pocket. Behind and beside the eagle are spears and a battle axe. A very finely carved piece. This piece was probably made for the American market based on the styling of the eagle. This piece stands 20\" in height, 13\" in width, and is 3\" in depth. This piece is in great condition with just part of the blade on the axe has been replaced and is very hard to notice and is shown in the last picture and also one of the three screws which holds the shield on is missing but would be very easy to replace. The shield may look cracked in the pictures but it was made that way using two pieces of wood. This piece still retains its original dark finish.
