Antique 19thC Hutschenreuther Porcelain Magdalena Plaque Porzellan Bild German:
$699.00
For sale is a superb porcelain plaque made by Hutschenreuther in the 19th century. It is hand painted with a superb detailed scene of a semi nude lady reading a book lying on the ground with a fallen over skull underneath the book. Likely a rendition of the Buesende Magdalena (penitent Magdalena). She looks to be in a cave. Superb quality painting not like the new fakes on the market! The plaque is in perfect condition (the white specs are carpet fibers). It is 5.125 inches wide and 4 inches tall so a nice size! Marked with the impressed shield with a crown on top in the back - an early Hutschenreuther mark.
