For sale is a lidded sugar dish made by Schney around 1800. Schney was founded in 1781 and was in existence for a long time until about 1928. This dish was made in the late 18th to early 19th century and is hand painted with a scene very typical for Thuringia porcelain makers like Gotha . The ruin type scenes are hand painted all in brown tones and have a plaque on them with the sayings: Zufriedenheit ist die Mutter des Gluecks, Freundschaft und Liebe which means: Satisfaction is the mother of luck, friendship and love. Nice gold trim as well! The dish and lid are in perfect condition with just the smallest of gold wear. The dish is marked underneath with the script S mark in under glaze blue and is 5 inches tall and 4.625 inches in diameter.
