A English Victorian Silver Mounted Cut Crystal Inkwell, London 1898 by John Grinsell & Sons, of square form with elegant cutting, the sterling silver top and collar hallmarked for 1898 with marker\'s mark, with ball lid engraved \"C.D. Xmas 1898\". Glass measures about 3\" square. Total height about 3 7/8\". Of very high quality and substantial weight. Fine antique English desk accessory. Makes a elegant paperweight for the executive office.

CONDITION: If there was originally an insert glass smaller ink pot, it is not here. I am not sure if it would have had one, so take a look and judge for yourself. Sterling ball lid in nice condition, with one very faint impressed spot. Hinge in fine condition and closes nicely. Glass has a few nibbles as would be expected given age and faceting. One is noticeable on the corner rounded column as shown in photo. Shelf wear on base.
