Guaranteed to be original and as described -- Antique signed and dated 19th century American folk art portrait oil painting on canvas of a elder woman wearing a white bonnet and glasses. The painting is artist signed,sitter identified and dated on the back of the canvas. The sitter is Hannah Adgate Bacon, Age 77, it is also identified on the back as being from Chesterfield New York, dated 1852. The artist name is hard to read.. it looks like to me A.D.Y Lechum or Lecher?....you be the judge of the signature. Below the signature it reads painter, you hardly ever find these antique folk art oil painting portraits signed.. let alone dated and identified as well. The frame appears to be original to the painting and has some scratches and dings from time and age. This is guaranteed a ORIGINAL old antique hand painted oil painting from the 1850\'s and is not a print of any kind........SIZE: ( With Frame) 34 1/4 inches high by 29 1/4 inches wide..the work itself is about 30 inches high by 25 inches wide...CONDITION : Fine condition, there is a 1 inch tear above her head, the painting is fresh out of a estate and is a bit dusty.
