The Battenburg style of using varying tapes and artful stitches to create patterns works beautifully here to make an outstanding whimsy doll with plenty of details. Look at her shoes, the fan in her hair, the way that her arms pose with the scarf around them - she is joyful and her face completely endearing.

Most likely done in the third quarter 19thc with either period or slightly later frame, she has been backed with modern maroon board for color contrast.
