Antique 1920\'s Art Deco Cobalt Blue Glass and Silver Overlay Vase- Great Condition!
Gorgeous Cobalt Blue Glass Vase has large Sterling Silver overlaid designthroughout. Two largeSilverPalm type leaves grace each side of the vase, and in between there are silver twisting vines- very beautiful! The top neck and curved lip of the opening are covered in silver overlay. The silver is not marked, but tests as Sterling. The Cobalt blue glass is in great condition and has a rich, cobalt coloration throughout.PLEASE NOTE: SOME OF THE PHOTOS LOOK LIKE THERE IS A CHIP ON THE LIP EDGE OF THE VASE- THERE IS NO CHIP, IT IS A LIGHT REFLECTION IN THE SILVER FROM MY CAMERA. THERE ARE NO CHIPS OR CRACKS ON THE VASE.It measures 7\" tall, 4\" wide at widest center point and has a 3.25\" base. Turned lip at opening measures 1.75\" with a 1\" opening.
I have polished this piece a little, but have left some of the natural silver oxidation in place. The silver could be shined to a brighter finish if that is the look you want. There is one small spot on the lower portion of one of the large leaves that has some slight silver loss, as can be seen in photos #4 and #8. One very small rough spot incobalt glass in another area near the bottom, very small andunnoticeable unless you feel and look for it.Overall in Beautiful Condition.Lovely piece from the Art Deco Era.
