You are buying an authentic, antique Russian Caucasus 84 Standard Silver Niello & Silk Belt. This great belt dates between 1896/99-1908 and has the Kokoshnik mark. Assayer was Liba Oleska of Kiev and the cyrillic assay initals can be seen to the right of the woman\'s head, I did the best I could with pictures, the mark is very tiny. This belt also has a makers mark in cyrillic but I could not identify who it belonged to. The kindjal sabre latches the belt closed and is stamped with a circular mark, either the town mark or an import stamp, I could not see it clearly enough to determine it. The silver buckle and accents are in great condition, save for a very small crack near the open center of the buckle. You can see the accents are held into place with bits of leather on the underside. The silk is definitely worn, fraying a bit on the ends and has not been cleaned. Still, for over 100 years old it\'s holding up pretty well! I would definitely not take a chance wearing this piece but it would look great on display!
