Georgian Sterling Silver Fiddleback Flatware Set, 85 pieces.
We acquired these from a collector in Los Angeles. He purchased all these pieces together in 1985 from B. Silverman in London. The spoons and forks are all antiques from 1824 through 1856, and are hallmarked accordingly. The pistol grip knives were manufactured in 1984. The knives, except for one have never been out of their original sealed plastic wrappers. An inventory letter from the seller (B.Silverman) is included. See photo. (We have noted below where there are discrepancies with this listing.)
Additionally we have included a photo of the postal wrapping from London in 1985. We will include the letter and the postal wrapping with the items.
A sugar fiddleback sugar scoop was added from another source and is included.
On a standard postal scale the solid sterling silver pieces weigh about 110 conventional ounces. The knives weigh about 44 conventional ounces, and appear to about 1/2 silver to stainless. These weights are very unofficial as we used a standard home postal scale, which is fairly accurate, but in no way abosolute. So, use these numbers as a ballpark for the silver weight.
