What a pretty and delicate little miniature! The painting measures 17mm wide (approximately) and about 30mm long from the bow to the tips of the chains. I don’t know what this is painted on, but it is marked 9c on the back. Maybe it’s painted on the gold? There’s a very light scratch near the bird’s chest, but it’s not visible to the naked eye, (well not to MY naked eye.). This comes in its original box from Shreve & Company, San Francisco. A family piece, that will continue to be an heirloom. What an amazing piece for your collection!
