A good quality little antique Masonic miniature fob or charm- just the size for a charm bracelet but it could be used on a watch chain etc. Approx. 17mm by 14mm and marked \'JG&S\' for the maker John Grinsell and Sons and \'9ct\'. An excellent maker, c.1890s-1920s in date. The charm has an openwork set-square and compass motif inside a square, slightly more decoration on one side than the other and nicely engraved. The gold has the dark patina of antique gold- not bright yellow, more of a warm nutty-brown. In excellent condition with no rubbing or wear, a slight polish would take away a little of the patina and make it \'brighter\' if preferred. Weight is 1.44g.
