Exceptionally RARE early 1770-1800 oval brass tinder box complete with tamper, striker, flint and cotton and perfect tallow candle. This item is 100% authentic and NOT a reproduction. Authentic round tinder boxes are still uncommon ...to find a authentic OVAL tinder box is extremely hard to find ...it is almost impossible ... especially with its original tamper and age appropriate tallow candle, flint, striker. This item is to the best of my knowledge English in origin. The tallow candle is a perfectly straight and looks exceptional in a high primitive or early American display. The candle alone at a high end antiques/primitives show would cost $100.00. This item is for the advanced collector who is looking for that special piece to compliment their early lighting collection. You will not be disappointed in this item.
