A beautiful addition to any collection.This cameo is masterfully carved of agate with nice depth. It was more than likely refashioned into a brooch from a larger piece. The frame and pin-back are manufactured of mixed high karat yellow gold, typical of early gold work. It is all hand made and carved. The frame original to the cameo and the pin, hinge and clasp being added at refashioning, attached by what appears to be bismuth solder.

This cameo is an exceptional carving measuring approximately 32x24mm. Total weight of piece is 11.54 grams.
