This is a beautiful sterling silver Philadelphiasouvenir spoon from the turn of the century that features the city seal,William Penn, Independence Hall and a small Liberty Bell on the front handle.The bowl has a larger Liberty Bell with a banner that says, ”Proclaim LibertyThroughout the Land. ” The back of the handle shows City Hall, Penn House, thePost Office, Girard College and the state’s keystone with 1632 in it. The backis also marked “sterling” and has the pennant with an “H” maker’s mark of theMechanics Sterling Company in Attleboro, Massachusetts. This is the large spoonthat measures 5 ¾” and weighs about 30 grams. It is in very good+ condition andwould make a lovely addition to a collection.
