Here we have a very pretty art nouveauporcelain vase by a renowned Austrian porcelain factory brandedAmphora. The factory was operated by Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel and was founded in 1892 in Turn, near Teplitz Bohemia. ( See Ludwig Danckert, Directory of European Porcelain).This sinuous vase featuring low relief poppy flowers, has a number of impressed marks on the base including that of Amphora, a very collectable maker.The vase has two arching offset handles in the form of flower stems and the design is very pleasing. The vase dates from around 1890 to 1900 and has the blush ware colour palette, so fashionable at that period.The vase is approx 8 1/2 inches high and the base diameter is 3 inches. It weighs 438g unpacked and has a litte damage to the neck rim - see desicription above and photos.
