Antique Ansonia Clock Company \"Boston Extra\" Early 1900\'s Open Escapement:
$999.99

Up for sale is an Ansonia Clock Company “Boston Extra” Modelin a black iron casing. This clock was made by the Ansonia Clock Company in theearly 1900’s. Based on research, theclock first appeared in their 1904 catalog and is a 8-day time/movement withhalf-hour strike. It measures 11\"high, 15\" long. The case is very heavy cast iron.

I dropped this clock off with a Andersen’s ClockRepair shop in Macon, GA around November / December 2015 for a total overhaul. The clock was not working at the time and I didnot want to sell it for parts as this is nice example of early American craftsmanshipand I hated to see it be parted out or turned into a steampunk project. The internal mechanism and associated partswere cleaned, oiled, and adjusted for the overhaul and completed/ picked upApril 26th2016. The clock hasbeen sitting on my mantle for 9 days and it has kept time and has chimed everyhalf hour. The clock can be adjustedslower or faster from the front and I have a key that will adjust the speed andwind the clock. It is not the original key;however the key came from an antique shop and fits the clock without issue. You can also adjust the speed on thependulum, but it seems easier to adjust from the front.

There are a few places with minor paint wear and loss insome of the edges and corners. I believe the paint job is original. The previous owner did scratch their name andID on the clock. Please viewpicture. The representative at Andersen’s,the clock repair shop stated that the casing was in great condition consideringit was made at the beginning of the century. The case is very decorative with \"Verde Bronze Columns. The clockhas a heavy cast brass bezel with beveled glass. The dial is porcelain, and in great shape. It\'s signed \"Ansonia Clock Co.\" Themovement is the original 8-day time and strike brass movement. Eventhough the clock is used, it is in excellent running condition since beingoverhauled. I cannot guarantee the clock will run after shipping due tovibrations, bumps, and possibly lack of care from the delivery company, but Ido guarantee that it will be packaged well and will run after adjustment by aqualified person. The clock on its ownweighs around 24 lbs. I will be placingthe clock in a sturdy box and additional packing material so I am estimatingthe shipping based on 26 lbs with approximate measurements of 20x18x16. I will use Fedex as they are very competitivein pricing. If pricing does not show, you will need to verify Fedex delivers to your area and if not, then beprepared to pay shipping costs with USPS or UPS, whichever is more economical. Buyer can request which carrier is used, butthere is no negotiation on shipping cost and the clock price is set. Insurance will be added.

Buyer will have to view the pictures to determine overallcondition. I have taken the necessarysteps to ensure the clock will be in good condition when arrives which mayrequire further adjustment by a professional. You can pay less for a similar clock in non-working order or can payless than my asking price for clocks that are working, but have not had recentservice. Due to age of item and weight, I will not acceptreturns. If damaged in transit, buyerwill need to file claim with carrier or work with seller to file the claim. I will be glad to assist in any way I can. If somethingin my description is questionable in relation to the pictures, buyer will needto ask questions and additional pictures can be provided to answer thequestion. Paypal only and globalshipping program is used. I will requireat minimum 25 consecutive successfulresponse ratings. If less than that, youwill need to contact seller to discuss. If there is concern upon receipt of item, buyer will need to contact seller to determine best resolution before response is left. I am a top seller and it is priority for me to make sure my customers get what they are expecting. I have provided much detail so purchase in confidence.
