Antique Art Deco Sterling Silver E.A. BLISS Chainmaille Mesh Purse:
$89.00

I am selling this beautiful and delicate chainmaille Sterling Silver Antique Art Deco EA Bliss mesh evening bag. It has a sapphire cabochon closure and it etched with the initials \"C.H.\" just under that blue gem closure.

It measures 7\" in length from closure to bottom of bag and 8.75\" from closure to bottom of tassel. Its width is 3.5\" across, but 4.5\" once opened up. The braided silver handle adds another 7\" in length. It weighs 3.7 ounces or 104.89 grams and feels like soft liquid against your skin. There are some small snags on the mesh itself as well as gaps in the connections on bothsidesof the hinged edges. I did the best I could to capture the wear in the photos.

The interior solid silver opening is stampedwith the \"BLISS\" logo, \"STERLING\" AND \"SOLDERED MESH.\" Upon close inspection, you can see an etched \"3082\" just to the right of the BLISS logo. I imagine it\'s a series #, item # or even possibly a date format for when it wasmanufactured. From what I\'ve researched online, in1875 E.A. Bliss was in partnership with J H Carpenter and in 1883 it became E.A.Bliss Company which changed to Napier Bliss in 1915. This company later becameknown as Napier. Similar mesh purses were made all around the turn of the century, so I presumethis one was, too, but you never know - maybe the \"3082\" represents the 30th day in 1882, or equally, the 82nd day in 1930. ;-) (just speculation...)

Enjoy the pictures and thank you for looking! :)
