This is a truly stunning Art Deco Silver Gilt & Guilloche Enamel, which was made by one of Britain\'s premier manufacturers - the highly respected firm of Asprey & Co London(please seethe detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of theitem\'s description).
This fabulous Card Case is made from solid Sterling Silver with a gorgeous Gilt finish throughout; including all exterior and interior surfaces. The lid has been further decorated with a beautiful Silver/ Grey Guilloche Enamel to complete an Art Deco Silver Card Case of the very highest quality available.
As you would expect this finest quality Card Case is fully stamped twice with both the maker\'s mark \'A&CoLTD\' and the hallmark. It is stamped on the inside of the lid, as shown, which has the maker\'s mark & part hallmark and on the side of the case with the maker\'s mark & full hallmark confirming that it is made from Sterling Silver and that it was assayed in London in 1931/32 (it is stamped with the date letter \'q\' - please see third & sixth photographs).
Overall the Card Case is in stunning condition with no damage and only wear to the gilding on the exterior of the Case, as shown, commensurate with age. The engine turned decoration on the lid is still crisp and fresh, as is the hallmark - reflecting the superb condition of this fine Case.Opening the lid, which opens & closes tightly almost as new, reveals a stunning gilded interior that shows virtually no loss of colour (please see photographs).
This superb Card Case, which weighs 102.5 gramsmeasures approx\' 7.9cms long by approx\' 5.0cms wide and it is approx\' 1.0cm high. Itcould only be improved by being gently cleaned (I have left the Case \'as found\' knowing that many collectors prefer to personally oversee the cleaning of their prized possessions).In summary, a fine Art Deco Sterling Silver Gilded Card Case decorated with Guilloche Enamel by Asprey & Co London, which dates to 1931/32.
