Offered from a the estate of a well know local collectoris a gorgeous, large and ornate gilt brass or maybe bronze floral overlay jewel or trinket boxwith irregularly beveled glass lid that follows the pattern of the floral overlay
Thick glass sides with deep bevelsthe front is adorned with a large applied floral medallion that serves as the clasp or escutcheonLift tab handlegood working hinges with stops that allow the lid to stand open
All in good vintage condition with some rubbing wear to the gilding on the metaland there are 3 areas of damage to the glass:there is a chip on a corner of the lid, under the metal, luckily, sohidden from viewand on the back right corner there is chipping on the bevel at the top of the side and back glasssee the close up photos, can be seen, not easily, but does not detract from the beauty of this wonderful piece
The great original padding for the bottom is here,pink and button-tufted, no tears, but faded andand some soilsolid metal bottom underneath
