Antique Austrian Art Nouveau Silver Charm Brothers Grimm Red Riding Hood Wolf

This is a wonderful and rare antique Austro-Hungarian charm which depicts the Brothers Grimm beloved children\'s fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood in the tale, is walking through the woods to bring her sick grandmother some food. She encounters the wolf who recommends that she pick flowers for her grandmother. Meanwhile, the wolf rushes to the house dressed as Little Red Riding Hood to fool the grandmother. He swallows the grandmother whole, then disguises himself again, this time as the grandmother, waiting in bed for the little girl to appear.

The rendering is superb, with Jugendstil design elements and a really unique elongated shape that tapers toward the base of the charm. It\'s in very good condition for its age with minimal wear. The bas relief detail is excellent! It measures 5/8\" at the widest point by 1 1/4\" tall, and weighs 3.7 grams. It is stamped \"800\" and \"DEP\" to the reverse. \"DEP\" stands for \"depose,\" which means \"registered.\" There is also an Austrian import stamp to the suspension loop, which dates it from 1901 - 1921.

Your vintage / antique charm (s) will be shipped within 24 hours (with the exception of weekends and holidays) of your processed payment. For items totaling $50 or more, insurance will be added free of charge for domestic purchases.

For sales ending on Saturday or Sunday, your charm (s) will be shipped the following Monday.

For international purchases totaling up to $100, the shipping charge will be $22.95. For international purchases totaling more than $100, the shipping charge will be $43 for Canadian buyers and $48 for all other international buyers. This Express Mail service will require a signature upon receipt.

Please allow approximately four to six business days for delivery of domestic items. Arkansas residents must pay 6.5%, plus applicable local county tax.
