Here we have a Antique BRAIME, England BRASS Banjo Oil Can Machinist Oiler, Military ?Thomas Fletcher (T.F.) & James Henry (J.H.)Braime established their firm (T.F. & J.H. Braime Ltd.) 1888, on LeekStreet in Hunslet, Leeds, England where they began fabricating oil cans andproducing small metal pressings with a fly press. Upon the awarding of apatent for one of their oil can designs, oil can ordersbegan pouring in from customers around the world. The Braime company subsequently became one ofmajor supplier for the World War I & II effort.
This banjo shaped oiler is marked on the side: BRAIME. In my opinion this can has a very Military-like appearance. Not sure if it was one produced for the War effort. This is a \'clicker can meaning that you squeeze the can in the circular side areas and you here a \'click sound\' as is pushes oil and air toward the spout.I do not see any dents. The can still has its wonderful aged patina. It has a knurled brass oil filler/spout screw and a screw on spout cap, which is attached to the can with a small chain. Nice display piece. 3\" dia. x 1\" thick body. Total length is 6\". This is a rare, hard-to-find example of a very collectible maker.
