Antique Bean\'s Improved Patent Swinging Faucet Can Box Stenciled Mustard Paint 1879
Description
Up for offers from my personal collection, is an antique 5 gallon patent swinging faucet can with box measuring 15.5\"T by 10.5\"W by 12\"D. The wood case has old mustard paint and has great bright stenciling with \"Bean\'s Improved Patent Swinging Faucet Can, Patented March 1879, Made & For Sale By JM Bean, 159 Broad St Cor. High, Up One Flight, Boston\". The wood case or box really makes this piece.
The top opens to reveal a 5 gallon tin rectangular can with handle that can be removed from the box. There is a rectangular hole on the top as seen in photo 8 - that looks like someone made that perforation in the past. Also, unfortunately, the bottom is no longer intact as if someone sawed it off in the past - see photos 12 and 13. It has a spout on one side. That\'s how it was when I acquired it back in 2007. It\'s too bad that the can wasn\'t still fully intact to make this more complete but I believe in spite of this, the piece is still a great primitive to add to any collection. I\'ve used it to display items on top of it and it really looks nice. Also, with the can inside the box, the missing base of the can isn\'t seen at all anyway and the rectangular hole on top is not as obvious. There are hooks to hold the top in place and hinges on the lid. This is a very heavy piece weighing about 10 lbs unpacked. Please view all photos.

ShippingI ship primarily through the US Post office but will ship UPS/Fedex as well for many breakables/collectibles, heavy packages, of if it\'s requested. UPS/Fedex are only available for the lower 48 states.
I usually ship your items within 1-2 days of receiving a cleared payment. You will receive an email indicating that your item was shipped.
Combining shipping:
I am happy to combine shipping payments on most compatible items within a 2 day period. If you are the winning buyer with plans to offer on more than one item, please let me know. If you purchase a Buy It Now item, or items that require immediate payment along with other items on standard sale, I will adjust the shipping costs in your final invoice for combined shipping to save you money. (Just let me know when you are finished shopping within that 2 day time frame.) This will occur through a revised invoice total. Return policy:
I must be contacted for any returns for any reason. Some items may be subject to a 15% restocking fee at my discretion. Look your item over carefully upon receipt and please let me know within 3 days if it\'s not as described. Items must be returned within 14 days of receipt, generally there are no exceptions. The buyer will pay all shipping costs including initial shipping charges when free shipping was offered unless the item is not as described.
Items that are new will not be accepted for returns if they\'ve been used. Once item is received back in original condition with original packaging and tags if applicable, a refund through paypal will be issued minus applicable shipping costs and restocking fee if applicable. All items should be mailed with a tracking number for your protection, and insurance is highly advisable for all items.
