Henry Schouten (Indonesia, circa 1857-Brussels, 1927) was a Belgian painter who is best known for his animals and landscapes. He was primarily a realistic painter of animals: cows, sheep, horses and animals in the farmyard. But he also painted peasants and herdsmen in their Environment, hunters with dogs and horses. He also painted a number of still lifes with flowers, poultry and vegetables.Henry Shouten\'s works were easily recognizable because he always painted dark animal eyes with white dots inside.
