Fresh from a Local Estate we offer this Antique Blue & White Staffordshire pottery Jasperware jug which has become known, only by the shape of the base mark, as chrysanthemum Pottery. The base is marked 54. This is a rare unknown maker but to date, nobody has been able to determine the identity of the potter, except that it existed between 1810-1830. The body is in amazing condition, but is does show some very old cracks or hairlines in the white detail work that does not go into the body and appear to be firing flaws. It measures approximately 5\" tall x 8\" across lip to handle. Our photos are a very large part of our description. They say more about this listing than I ever could using words alone.
