Rare Bowie made for import to The San Francisco Market. Ricasso marked \"J.S. HOLLER & CO.\" over \"ADOLPH BLAICH\" over \"SAN FRANCISCO\". Classic S.F styling similar to Kohnke, Rau, Todt, and Will & Finck. Reverse is marked \"RAZOR STEEL\" over \"GERMANY\". See photos. 7-1/2\" x 1-1/4\" wide x 5/16\" thick heavy blade. It retains it\'s original mirror finish. Some minor staining and scuffs. It doesn\'t appear to have ever been re-sharpened from the original factory edge. Overall length 11-3/4\" The handle is \"jigged\" bone with a nickel silver escutcheon. The oval 1/8\" thick guard is also nickel silver. Overall condition is excellent. J.S. Holler & Co. / A. Blaich were San Francisco merchants dealing in cutlery and supplies for residents and miners in the Bay area in the late 19th century. See pg. 138 of \"KnifemakersOf Old San Francisco\" by Bernard R.
