This is an original set of late Victorian measures from India, made by the Oriental Metal Pressing Works and others in Bombay. they measure1/2 seer down to 1/64 seer, halving in size each time, and are a complete set of 6 measures in total. They are really well constructed from copper and brass and were the official volumetric measures used in the Bombay district, termed Bombay Bazaar measures - each part of India at this time had its own units of measurement. There are some inscriptions on these measures in the local language. They have different company names on them, some clearer than others and lead seal check marks to brass rims. I would guess late 19th century but they could be a bit earlier. It really is a striking set of measures, something rarely seen in such nice condition. The largest measure is9.5cm high, the smallest 3cm.
