A Nice Brass guard probably from anearly 19th century eagle head sword. Shows traces of silver platingand there appears to be the letters H – O or C on the outside near the bladeopening not sure if this is a makers mark. Please see the pictures and makeyour own determination. Blade slot is possibly enlarged a bit and measures .60inches by .29 inches. Guard is aprox.4 ½by 4 ½ inches.
