Antique c 1865-1870 Special Grand Tour Desk Thermometer-with Gothic Arches:

C 1865-1870 Very Special Grand Tour Thermometer. The upper section appears to be copper with just a trace of Gold Gilt left. Gothic arched window frames surround stairway leading to the silvered thermometer plate. Looks like a palace ruin. The thermometer over all is 8.75 inches high and the stairway base is 5.25 by 2.25 inches. The base looks like it is bronze and is made to look like a stone floor. The thermometer is accurate reading.This is a very unusual piece - one of a kind. In all our years collecting beautiful scientific pieces we have never seen another. We hope the buyer will enjoy it as much as we have thru the years.
