These sweet dessert plates with scalloped rims are the perfect size for desserts or bread & butter. They were made by the Charles Ahrenfeldt pottery in Limoges, France during the Victorian era - 1894-1920, by order of Ovington Brothers retailer in NYC. Ovington Bros. was a well known upscale retailer of its day who imported top European lines of the time. These plates have a colorful center decoration on pure white, encircled by an ornate gold pattern. The shelf of the plate is cream colored with matching colorful geometric decoration which borders the rim. The scalloped rim and bottom are also gilt accented for a lovely finish. This is a very nice setting to have on hand for a buffet or shower service, birthdays - any time you will be having a group event!Measurements in inches: 6 1/8Condition: There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Rubbing/stacking losses to the inner gold filigree, and some losses to rim gold. The plate photographed is representative of all.
